Orleans work centers on heat pumps, AC and commercial estimates, with boilers and maintenance plans behind them.
Heat pump installation
Older cottages near the bays often have no ducts, so a mini split or multi-zone heat pump is a common way to add AC and heat. A heat pump installation starts with a free written estimate.
Central AC repair
Central AC repairs in Orleans start with a paid diagnostic visit. An AC past saving gets a free written estimate.
Commercial HVAC
Rooftop units, boilers and VRF systems for the stores and restaurants around the village are covered on the commercial HVAC page. A commercial repair starts with a paid diagnostic visit.
Boiler replacement
Orleans houses on oil or propane often have boilers and baseboard. A replacement boiler and a radiant floor in a renovation are both quoted in a free written estimate; see radiant heating.
Maintenance plans
Cottages that sit closed for months and homes that run all winter need different schedules. The Home Comfort Plan page lets you ask about maintenance options.

Orleans sits where the Cape turns north toward the Outer Cape, with year-round neighborhoods, seasonal cottages, stores and restaurants around the village. Many houses sit near Nauset Beach, Town Cove and Pleasant Bay, so salt air is a fact of life for outdoor units. Older cottages often have no ducts, which is why heat pumps and mini splits come up so often for them.
Which utility and rebate program applies in Orleans?
Orleans buys electricity from Eversource, and natural gas reaches only parts of town, if any. On the Cape, heat pump rebates and the 0% HEAT Loan come through Mass Save, with the Cape Light Compact as the program administrator. We go over the terms in effect at the estimate.

We fix, maintain and install heating, cooling and water-heating systems. We do not sell equipment on its own or repair household appliances.

Orleans Furnace, Boiler & AC Questions, Answered
Do you work in Orleans, or only near Lakeville?
We do. Emergency heating and AC service available. Call to arrange a visit. Orleans calls go to 508-521-9477, and you tell us what is wrong.
Can a heat pump heat an Orleans cottage that has no ducts?
Usually, yes. A wall-mounted unit heats and cools the room it serves, and a multi-zone system covers several rooms from one outdoor unit. See heat pump installation and mini split installation.
Does salt air damage outdoor units in Orleans?
It can, especially near Nauset Beach and the bays. Salt on the condenser coil shortens its life, so ask for the coil to be looked at during maintenance. See HVAC maintenance.
Is Mass Save available in Orleans?
Very likely. Orleans is an Eversource town, and on Cape Cod the Cape Light Compact administers the Mass Save electric programs. We check the current terms when we write the estimate.
